Christian Apfelbacher

With a background in health sciences and public health, and a PhD in epidemiology (University of Heidelberg, Germany) and health services research (Brighton and Sussex Medical School), Prof Christian Apfelbacher is currently Chair of Epidemiology and Health Systems Research at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, Germany and Visiting Professor (Health Services Research) at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (Family Medicine and Primary Care), Singapore.

His research interests are manifold and encompass population-based and clinical epidemiology, systematic reviews of interventional and non-interventional studies, complex interventions and the measurement of patient-reported outcomes. He contributes to the HOME, HECOS and COMFA initiatives, that try to develop core outcomes sets for clinical trials, observational research and routine care.
