about the meeting

WELCOME TO THE JOINT MEETING: COMFA AND CS-COUSIN

Thursday 23 - Tuesday 28 September 2021

The international multi-professional Cochrane Skin - Core Outcome Set Initiative (CS-COUSIN) supports the development and implementation of Core Outcome Sets (COS) in dermatology. Currently, twenty project groups are developing COS for a wide range of dermatological conditions.

We are delighted to welcome you to the first CS-COUSIN meeting, jointly organised with the COMFA (Core Outcome Measures in Food Allergy) initiative. This event is a multi-disciplinary/multi-stakeholder event that is   open to interested researchers, reviewers, clinicians, patients or other professions to attend virtually.

The CS-COUSIN Management Group will host the first and last day to share important methodological insights as well as learning from keynote speakers and hearing about progress made in the project groups. These groups will lead their own agenda over the course of days 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Unlike a traditional conference, this meeting is a key opportunity for our Project Groups to interact and use the time to get some practical work completed in focused sessions. These dedicated meetings can be used to

·        find consensus within your discipline

·        discuss current advances in research

·        identify what to do in the future?

·        present a summary of your discussions in the final plenary session on Tuesday.

A COMFA Training School will take place in parallel from Saturday 25 September to Monday 27 September 2021. Exploring basic tools for the different aspects of evidence synthesis and COS development this Training School is aimed at medical students, PhD students and Early Career Researchers interested or already working in the field of COS development.

While the meeting format is virtual and experimental, we hope to make this the largest ever skin and allergy COS meeting and we thank you for taking part in this important meeting.

We look forward to seeing you over the course of the conference.
